Post-transition, I've become largely gender indiscriminate in dating. Male and female have become a bit of a sliding scale. Moving along that line - line? curve? blur? explosion? - turns out to be remarkably simple. It's the context we place that change in, the medical barriers we put up against it, the official hoops we are required to jump through, the emotional battles we fight within ourselves about it that make the whole thing complicated. And I'm not saying it's easy - you can ask anyone who ever tried to lose weight if simple means easy - I'm just saying that it doesn't matter to me in a dating situation anymore.
Hell, it's queer no matter who I hook up with these days.
So, I have a date tonight. I hope I have a clean shirt.
Goof for you, Hank!
ReplyDeleteI certainly do hope you have a clean shirt.
And are relaxed and confident with your sparkling self when you walk through that door, or garden, or down that sidewalk or whatever it is.
Good luck!
Thanks! Total okcupid situation - dating in the modern age - but I expect a good time.
DeleteDating is something I hope I never have to do again. Well, the crazy sex part is fun but all that other stuff is stressful. The clean shirt is the easy part
ReplyDeleteI'm such a specific type that by the time someone says yes to a date, much of the stress is already dealt with.
DeleteHave fun, my love, my son, my teacher.
ReplyDeletePlan on it. Just to say, I may or may not blog about a certain amount of sex stuff, if it comes up. Do me a favor and don't comment on those posts. Ha!
DeleteGood plan!
DeleteThinking ahead.
DeleteBut make sure you post the sex stuff. You have other readers. Just sayin'

Noted.
DeleteIt took me so long to start dating that by the time I started, I was well into my twenties and did the online thing. All I have to say is that I have a lot of crazy stories and I'm so grateful I do. I had fun and it allowed me to meet my husband which has it's own story. Have fun, hope you get a good story. ~Sarah from Columbus
ReplyDeleteIt went great. Cute nerd.
DeleteYay!
Deletei met mr. mischief via the interwebz via two degrees. two chicks i knew online from different states dared me to sign up for POF. i was determined to show them no person suitable for myself could be found online, much less at POF....
ReplyDeletealmost 7 years of marriage later, you never know. hope it went well!
xxalainaxx
It went very well. We ate Chinese food, talked about D&D and other nerdly topics, and made out at my place. Success. Then I dropped him off with friends to play Pokemon Go.
DeleteGender doesn't matter....it is what is in their head and heart and soul that counts! There are quality people on all ends of the spectrum and everywhere in between. Not what you are but who you are and all that. Sometimes it is tough to weed through and find the special ones, though.... Good luck to you.
ReplyDeleteTrue.
